Dead Shores Scaffolding

Stellar Scaffolding is able to provide a multitude of scaffolding dead shores in order to support unsafe structures.  The scaffolding is used to provide temporary support to two parallel walls which may otherwise collapse. It is used to support buildings that may be particularly fragile or at risk of decaying.

Moreover, dead shoring is also commonly used to carry vertical loadings from walls, floors, and roofs.  This is often required with commercial and industrial buildings and an opening is being made in the wall.  Dead shores consist of an arrangement of beams and posts that support the structural weight in order to transfer it to the foundation below.

Why Dead Shores Scaffolding?

Dead shores are commonly used in car parks.  For example, if a retail or commercial car park is undergoing new strengthening works, such as the re-installation of concrete floors, dead shores will be best utilised by supporting direct loads from above or a dead weight.  The great thing about dead shores is the fact that they are well-known for being able to hold extremely heavy loads, sometimes up to 30kn per square metre.

When openings in the wall are required, holes are drilled at a height that allows for the insertion of the beam or girder that will be permanently installed to support the weight of the structure above. The distance between the holes is determined by the type of brickwork and ranges from 1.2m to 1.8m in diameter. Beams called needles are inserted into the holes and supported on either side of the wall by vertical props called dead coasts. The needles can be made of wood or steel, and they must have enough section to support the load above.
